Mary Christine Brockert (March 5, 1956 – December 26, 2010)

I ain't gonna let you go that easy...
You've got to say you love me too...
I ain't gonna let you go that easy...
I'm gonna give it all to you...

The words, that hook you quoted contains the very SAME lyrics I'd been humming to myself all day before I heard the sad news that she'd passed. Lady T was as unique as they come & her raw talent, her individual star was what made us (black folks) so attracted to her shine!

Maybe now she & Minnie share lead vocals in a Divine & Heavenly Choir.

As Hemingway wrote: 'Isn't it lovely to think so?'

One.

Her death just put me in shock. So talented and I just love her music.

I love her music and so does my daughter. I had my daughter giggling when I told her how you could hear Teena's voice ringing throughout the projects when I was younger. No one cared about her skin color we just knew she could sang and the songs were so good.

Only problem my daughter has when listening to Teena when I am around is Teena gets me thinking I can sing too.

"Please, Mommy stop and go in another room".

I do hope that her daughter is staying strong and surrounded by people who will help her get through this.
