Dreaming

i look forwarding to dreaming. it's like a movie in my mind and usually revolve around my experiences, the people i know, the people i want to get to know...
most often my dreams are delightful. like when i dream of andre benjamin, one of my on-the-job honeys or my boyfriend. i hardly have bad dreams (hopefully i won't have one tonight) but i usually prevent them by not eating cheese before going to bed. i don't know why eating cheese makes me nightmare...

the other night i dreamt of rick fox. now i love me some rick. i don't know where the dream derived because i haven't seen rick since i saw the awful "meet the browns" but he must be in my subconscious.

in the dream, rick and i were married and we had 2 children, 2 boys. my man rick, was the biggest cheater. i was driving home with the children when i walk in the house and there are about 30 women in my living room. in my head, i'm saying rick must think i'm some kinda punk! i walk into the bedroom and rick is laying in our bed with about 6 women, all shapes, sizes and colors. there were more women in the bedroom. they were on the floor, on the chaise, everywhere. i walked up to him while he was sleeping and i told him, "i won't raise my kids like this. i am leaving you". he smiled up at me with that beautiful smile, revealing his dimple and says "you're not going anywhere" and then i woke up.

i am too upset with rick fox! the minute that he's in my dreams, the brother got to be cheating on me!

then last night i have a dream about me and kanye west. i know this came from reading muze's post entitled "this is for the cool in you". so here i am hooking up with kanye and we are not romantically linked at all - we are just crazy cool, breaking into people's homes, eating their food all the while we're wearing backpacks and we're doing this just because he's kanye west and i'm his road dog.

first rick and now kanye.... what the heck!

some believe that dreams come to tell us something. for instance if my mother dreams about eggs, fish or chicken, someone is pregnant. some believe that we dream because of some ongoing issue in our lives, relationships, work, stressful situations, our thoughts, hopes, and goals. some people allow dreams to direct their lives much like reading horoscopes.

dreams still baffle us, scientists still have no clue. who knows for sure, especially when we can't go to bed and direct our own dreams. some people don't dream or don't remember their dreams and it is said and everyone, even blind people dream, every night.

i wonder though, how am i to interpret the dreams i have about andre bejamin or the dreams i have where i am wearing a white t-shirt and no panties and i'm always at work. i know the latter is supposed to mean that i am unsure of myself, ashamed or will be exposed. as far as kanye, i don't even mind. we were hanging out like cut buddies. but for rick fox... i'm not even mad at him. i still love him like he never even cheated on me...

My father was like that thought dreams had meanings.

I'm not saying they do or don't.

He was also one of those people who had a book that when you dreamed, you looked up the dream and played the number that went to it. A lottery dream book I guess it was called.

I myself prefer daydreams cause I can control them. Now if only I can make a few come true.

Sharon... LOL - my parents are the same way. They play birthdates and anything you can think of. It's amazing the time they invest in trying to figure out the numbers.

I love daydreaming - I can do it ALL day!

Ticia... LMAO - you are crazy with the luscious dreams. I know what you mean though - I've had a few myself!

I'm a firm believer in your dreams trying to tell you something. I say pray over it and let it go. All will be revealed.

I would have had to slap Rick Fox in the middle of that dream!

Monique... I do believe that some problems can be worked out and revealed in dreams.

Suite B... LOL - You are so right! Rick deserved to get a beat-down in my dream! All them women in my house! In my bed! BTW, I just went by your site & I see you're getting married on a special day, just so happens to also be my birthday! Congratulations.

Hmm, me eating cheese before bed will mean a nightmare for anyone sleeping next to me. LOL.

If you've ever read The Four Agreements, it has a pretty good perspective on dreams. I hardly ever remember mine, but I'm from a Caribbean family where every dream has a meaning...my sister's husband even has a dream book.

Too involved and superstitious for me. Most nights, I try to control the path of my dreams by going to bed thinking about some gorgeous man...

Simplenigma... LOL @ you eating cheese before bed. I've got to get a copy of The Four Agreements and I'm so with you on the Caribbean family (me too on my dad's side). Wow, I too try to control the path of my dreams but when I'm most tired is when I have the craziest of dreams-when I just can't control 'em.

I believe dreams have meaning. I've learned/confirmed somethings about myself through dreams. I always pay close attention to them.

Dreams absolutley have meaning. Your subconscious works out issues that you are not able to do in your waking state. Get youirself a decent dream book and keep it by your bedside with a notebook. Then track your dreams...the ones you can remember, even if it's bits and pieces and doesn't make sense.

And pay attention to what you eat before you go to bed...(smile!)

Dreams tell you everything about what is inside of you. Forget what we potray to the world, our dreams bring us back to reality. Keep us thinking.

Jenna... I suppose a lot of dreams do have meaning it's all in how they are interpreted.

Lovebabz... I've been reading up on dreams this week and you're correct, we work out issues in our dreams, things are revealed... I will invest in a good dream book - Borders here I come and notebooks I have plenty!

Duke... that is true... dreams certainly keep us thinking long after we are awake.

Dreams are like free additional information on yourself. Like therapy without the trip to the shrink. If you pay attention to your dreams, you can counsel yourself.

Definitely start writing them down, so you can notice any trends. My mother says every character in your dream is actually yourself.

BTW, Im American and my Grandma had Dream Books, as well.

Rick Fox, Gurl! D*MN, he fine! He better not show up in my dreams in a bed, Ill wear his young a$$ out!
:-P

I also dream vividly, like the one last night was darn stupid, i was in the ladies restroom, and stall i went in to was horrendous, nasty and i kept thinking i can't use the restroom in here, but i had to, so i commence to cleaning the seat, and everything in the stall before i actually do my bizness. I come out of the stall, and there is a cleaning woman, and she goes into my stall and says to everyone , "now this one takes the cake"...i say what, i cleaned it, then she said "but you peed on the floor", lol, now tell me, what does that mean?

Chez... I know that dream books are a definite in all Black homes, bridges the gaps between cultures. LOL
If every character in my dream is myself... then who was I having sex with that time...

Mizrepresent... LMAO @ your dream. The cleaning lady coming in after you cleaned the toilet would have made me mad! Girl, I don't know what that means but it's funny.
